Nice to meet you! I’ m Julia,

Julia with dog Buddy on Dartmoor

Copywriter and Content Strategist…

I hold a Master’s Degree in German Language & Literature as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. I’ve worked as scientific staff and editorial staff in NGOs, as creative German copywriter for food, fitness and health brands and scientists and focused on editorial SEO for many years of my employment.

Today, I have comprehensive knowledge and experience in health, nutrition and sports marketing. My main focus is the creation of science backed and educational content pieces for online and print, that are fun to read, perform in search engines and connect with the reader on an emotional level.

I work as a freelance, (SEO-)copywriter, content strategist, translator and ghostwriter for NGOs, companies, coaches and scientists whose missions resonate with me. I’m mainly writing for clients in the fields of sports and yoga, holistic health, Ayurveda and mindful living, as well as nutrition and supplements.

With animal rights as my private passion, I sometimes write for sustainable pet-brands, veterinary services or animal right NGOs as well.

Being rooted in the German countryside, I’ve spent many years ins the vibrant cultures of Cologne, Düsseldorf and Berlin and created and translated content for clients all over Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

…Personal Trainer & Yoga Teacher.

Julia Austin practicing Kapotasana

Physical exercise has always been an integral part of my life: horseback riding, hiking, cycling, (competitive) running and all the athletic training required to build and maintain a solid basic fitness. In 2009 I started my career as a Group Fitness Coach followed by training Personal Training clients since 2014.

As a PT, I hold certificates in nutrition and sports nutrition. Currently, I’m undergoing a training to become a Holistic Ayurveda Nutrition Coach.

In my understanding, when it comes to health, there is no one-size-fits-all-concept. Yet, there are established methods, proven to work over and over again. An individual, holistic, approach to those methods is, what I believe in.

In 2010, between studying, running and coaching, I started practicing Kundalini Yoga, which allowed me to experience a whole new perspective on the connection between body and consciousness. At that point, I knew that yoga would remain part of my path. Since 2015, I also practice meditation and the Vipassana tradition.

After 8 years of Kundalini and regular Vinyasa classes, I started practicing Ashtanga Mysore Style. Intrigued by the focus and intensity, I established a daily practice from the start. Until now, this practice remains an integral part of my day. I am grateful to be able to support others as a teacher on this transformative path.

Mostly together with my husband Tom, I teach international retreats and workshops. At some point, we will open a Mysore Program again.
